On average, more than 40 million people move each year in the United States, with an estimated 75% of those moves occurring between April and October. And Amazon is often a key player in those moves. It offers a vast selection of products that can help movers use this time to upgrade and future-proof their homes, whether it’s through smart technology or deals on Amazon’s new appliances.
Solution
Knowing that people move for many reasons (family, work, school, and even the weather) and that every move is a chance for a fresh start, including refreshing your services and what you own, we introduced the Verizon Digital House. It celebrates the fact that when we pack, we're also unpacking the different choices available to make our next house the smartest one for what we need. By allowing movers to explore tips, insights, and devices, we inspired them to upgrade their next home.
As the creative lead for the Verizon Digital House, I actively participated in brainstorming sessions and discussions to shape the initial concept. Through multiple rounds of refinement, I transformed the idea into an engaging digital experience. I focused on ensuring an intuitive and visually appealing user interface that aligned with project goals.
The Verizon Digital House features distinct rooms, each with custom-designed Verizon hotspots. These hotspots provide valuable tips and content to assist movers in upgrading their homes with smart technology and selecting suitable appliances. The visual appeal of the house was a key aspect of the experience. I conducted research to determine the appropriate visual style and guided the 3D rendering team in creating bespoke Verizon room environments.
To expand the reach of the Digital House beyond Amazon.com, we collaborated closely with Amazon Live and Twitch. I selected experts and talent to offer insights and tips, enhancing customers' ability to create functional, smart rooms tailored to their lifestyles and powered by Verizon. This collaboration added an interactive and educational element to the experience.
Result
As of July 2023, the project was still ongoing and active with great interest in investment when I left the team. As the creative lead, I played a pivotal role in bringing the vision of the Verizon Digital House to life. By leading concept development, design iterations, personalization strategies, and collaboration with external partners, I ensured that movers had a powerful tool at their disposal to explore, envision, and upgrade their living spaces using Verizon's advanced technologies and Amazon's wide range of smart products.
